During September our members supported DIY SOS Children In Need by manning the refreshment tent onsite. Our activities co-ordinator approached DIY SOS and volunteered our services and asked Swansea Lions and Gower and LLwchwr Lions to volunteer alongside us.

The build was in The Roots Foundation in Swansea. The Roots Foundation is a volunteer led charity that supports young people in care, care leavers, children in need and adults who have left care and in transition of independent living. The building was totally transformed from a run down scout hut to a state of the art building.
During the 10 days of the build club members made over 11,000 cups of tea and coffee and sliced too many cakes to count!
It was a great opportunity for clubs to work alongside each other and serve the community. Each member of the club who volunteered felt that it was a rewarding experience and would do so again without hesitation.
Whilst there are photos in the gallery of our members there aren’t any photos of the building until the big reveal on 16th November. Our members are hoping to visit The Roots Foundation to see the new building in the upcoming months and will upload pictures at that point.
